▷ PARKING: Riggs Hotel offers valet parking at the hotel entrance for Cafe Riggs for $20. Street parking is also available on the surrounding streets but can be difficult to find. As a result, I recommend parking a few blocks away and walking to the hotel. We found parking on 6th and F and only had to walk 3 blocks (about 8 minutes). Street parking is free on Sundays!
Located on the corner of 900 & F, Riggs Hotel is in the heart of Penn Quarter. Cafe Riggs can be seen directly ahead from F street when coming from 700th street or other lower numbered streets along F street. As soon as you see the signature blue awnings, you know you’ve found it. Riggs Hotel and Cafe Riggs are identified by their signature blue color seen throughout outdoor features such as the garden terrace roof, cafe signs and more.
The sidewalk is open and you are free to walk by the hotel and patio freely. The patio offers seating along the side of the hotel with umbrellas for shade cover. For patio seating, you can either make a reservation online or speak to the host/hostess inside the restaurant. Seating for Sunday brunch was completely open with plenty of tables available.

When you hear of Cafe Riggs or see it on social media, it’s likely the outdoor Garden Terrace. The Garden Terrace is what Cafe Riggs is most well-known for, along with the giant flower case inside the cafe (see below). Every season Cafe Riggs fills the Garden Terrace with beautiful floral arrangements that fit the current season and colors. 💐 For spring you’re likely to find a variety of pink and red flowers. Summer time is a mix of bright yellow, pink and white flowers. And around Christmas time you’ll see red and green flowers.
Once again, the sidewalk alongside Riggs Hotel is open and you are free to walk by the patio and Garden Terrace. If all you’re wanting is a quick photo or two, you can walk by and see if there is an open table at the Garden Terrace. During peak hours, all sections on the terrace may be full. To guarantee your spot on the Garden Terrace, make a reservation online ahead of time. The Garden Terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy a Sunday brunch with your girlfriends or savor a delicious cocktail surrounded by beautiful flowers. So girls trip anyone?!
